    Summary:

    Responsibilities:
    ▪ Perform independent safety & compliance oversight activities including system/product audits, inspections and assessments in accordance with WASL management system requirements (e.g., annual scheduled audit programme)
    ▪ Create accurate records in support of completed oversight activities including such as audit reports, findings reports, investigation reports and safety assessments
    ▪ Perform investigations (e.g., maintenance error) assisting responsible managers to identify the root cause(s) and develop / implement effective preventative actions.
    ▪ Review and follow-up closure of any non-compliances / conformances raised as the result of internal or external audits or other oversight activities as applicable.
    ▪ Review Part-145 maintenance personnel individual authorisations applications, conduct authorisation boards and recommend issue as applicable.

  • Imports/Exports Controller, International Transportation

    Summary:

    Supports the international transportation of Company owned managed fleet or customer owned aircraft engines and equipment from our Teesside UK location (Willis Aviation Services Limited). Interface with global transportation and logistics companies to coordinate the ground and air transportation movements and associated Import and Export documentation requirements for engine and equipment. This position also requires the daily care and control of the company Bonded Warehouse, and all associated reporting to customs control. Ensuring the company stays in compliance with the requirements of the AEOC and HMRC.

    Responsibilities:

    Import/ Export/Customs/ HMRC Compliance and Control

    •   Effective control of the import, export and clearance of all aircraft, aero engines, stands and parts into and out of the Teesside facility (WASL).
    •  Effective control of all imports into WASL customs warehouse, IPR authorizations with the correct use of CFSP and of Free Circulation, Home Use and Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA) regimes, as appropriate to the business, including timely provision of all customs clearances.
    •  Effective control of all import and exports with attention to import duty and VAT liabilities to WAML where feasible.
    •  Production and management of shipping and logistics purchase orders, commercial invoices and packing slips. Effective control and application of optimized import customs values.
    •  Ensures HMRC regulatory compliance and effectively manage all WASL import, export and clearance documentation, ensuring conformance with required regime regulatory requirements, CPC’s and tariff codes.
    •  Effective management of IPR and End Use deferments and extensions and advises the Operations Director International Transport of potential liabilities in good time to allow effective cost limitation measures to be applied (e.g. where extensions cannot be obtained).
    •  Effective and early collaboration with WLFC contracts personnel to ensure customs compliance with regards declaration of import/export customs values.
    •  Effective management of customs liability under the various regimes to ensure duty and VAT payments due to WASL/WAML/WLFC are minimized as much as possible
    •  Liaise as required with the Warehouse Team Leader regarding the import and export of engines and material from the WAML and Teesside (WASL) Facility
    •  Keep up to date with Customs regulation and necessary documentation requirements for the various countries that Company engines and equipment are expected to be transporting to and from.

    Logistics/ Transportation/ Documentation

    •  Effective control of all functions associated with the shipment around the world of all aero engines, engine stands, and any large consignments of parts as required.
    •  Effective control of goods from collection to receipt at customer/repair vendor facilities, or into WASL facilities.
    •  Control and validation of final shipping and freight invoices to ensure that they match originating purchase orders and collaboration with the Finance department to rectify any discrepancies.
    •  Effective management of engine, engine stands and parts movements through the stock control system.
    •  Effective liaison with external shipping and logistics departments, shipping agents, and importers and exporters of record.
    •  Acquire quotes from Company approved Freight Forwarders to support transportation requirements.
    •  Coordinate the Company shipments with the customer, regardless of which party is responsible for the transportation (internal or external).

    Bonded Warehouse

    •  Provide daily care and control of the company Bonded Warehouse and all associated reporting to customs control.

    Responsibilities:

    Material Receipt, Inspection & Dispatch

    Receipt & dispatch activities of material within the Bridgend Warehouse including:

    • Following internal procedures to ensure that material is received in correctly
    • Receipt and dispatch of engines and engine stands to include all appropriate receipt/dispatch controls are maintained
    • Offloading of received material
    • Signing for the goods
    • Receipt Inspection
    • Reviewing documentation to ensure compliant with regulatory requirements, including CRS from various National Aviation Authorities

    Material Management

    Providing support and assistance to the Warehouse Team Leader in conducting the following activities:
    • Periodic Physical Inventory (PI) checks
    • Conducting general visual inspection for general condition whilst in storage including greasing of components where necessary
    • Re-package where required.
    • Shrink wrapping components and engines as required.
    • Engine humidity checks
    • Ensure that the requirements for segregation and control of material required for Regulatory requirements UK CAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) are implemented and continuously monitored
    • Raising Purchase Orders for material as required

    Material Handling from Engine Teardown Activities

    Ensure that material received via Teardown activities is:

    • Identified iaw OEM IPC
    • Dispositioned appropriately (bagged and tagged)
    • Recorded within our Stock Management System
    • Stored appropriately ensuring any protective treatments are applied

    Material Documentation Management

    Booking material into the Stock Management System

    • Coordinating associated documentation
    • Liaising with internal customer interface if documentation is not compliant
    • Scanning all documentation into the Stock Management System

    Material Movements

    Provide support and assistance as required in the movement of material safely within the warehouse, to include:

    • Ensuring material is located to the unique allocated storage location
    • Effective application of forklift operations and the safe movement of material about the warehouse

    Consumables, Expendables & POL

    Ensure appropriate management and upkeep of consumables and expendables:

    • Receipt of consumables and expendables is carried out and uploaded into the Stock Management System
    • Ensure that POL cabinets within workshop are effectively managed

    Tooling and Calibrated Equipment

    Ensuring good effective control of Maintenance Services tooling and calibrated equipment to ensure that:

    • Purchased tooling and equipment is receipted in and recorded on the Stock Management System before releasing to Maintenance Service Staff. Ensure appropriate procedures are followed when required e.g. Alternative/Locally Manufactured Tooling
    • Calibrated tooling returning is recorded appropriately on the Stock Control System before releasing to Maintenance Services
    • Anti-deterioration checks are carried out in line with the schedule

    General Housekeeping

    Responsible for ensuring that the general cleanliness of the workshop and warehouse is to the standards expected within an aviation environment, by ensuring that:

    • Goods receipt/dispatch area is kept clean and tidy with no surplus packaging lying around
    • FOD bins are emptied on a regular basis
    • Any oil spillages identified are quickly cleared up
    • The floor is cleaned periodically by using the floor scrubber

    Regulatory & Quality

    Ensure that all activities conducted are in accordance with:

    • UK CAA / EASA / FAA Regulatory requirements
    • AS9100 / 9110 Quality Management System requirements
    • ISO45001 Health & Safety standard
